Winter arrived with a vengeance for Eastern Iowa and surrounding parts. My area nearly received a foot of snow the weekend after the holiday of Thanksgiving here in the States. We then received another couple of inches early this week. Temperatures have remained below freezing for the most part. We did hit negative digits today (4-December-2025) on the Fahrenheit thermometer briefly. For my part of the country this type of cold and snow usually reserves January for its arrival.
I’m not complaining. I live in the N40’s latitude. This is life in the Midwest of the States. Canada sends down cold air with the jet stream and occasionally it freezes us in place. It has put a damper on geocaching sadly. No one wants to dig in snow to find a geocache. If the terrain is higher it is more interesting, but I do not want to climb a tree when the temperature is this cold. Branches can break so much easier and one could find themselves in a world of hurt… the fall doesn’t hurt… it is the sudden stop… when gravity… overwhelms you… ouch…
Meanwhile I have been reading, designing a new geocaching art (a paw print) based on dog breeds. I’m using jig saw puzzles online to accomplish my goals for delivering coordinates. The working and sporting breeds are included in our second art. Our first art was released late last spring. It was a dog bone art made up of mastiff breed jig saw puzzles. I do all of our puzzles for fun. It is a positive way to pass the dark cold nights of winter here, and just rest the brain from all the clutter around us… politically…
I’ve been keeping up with the news and the stupidity in Washington D.C. just never ends. I can’t believe some Americans are still ignorant enough to think this Dunning Kruger Sh** Show is actually working for them. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined such an anti-morality play. War crimes, Human trafficking, Victimizing minority populations, pardoning drug traffickers and insurrectionists, deploying failed early 20th century economic strategies, cutting the social safety net that we tax payers pay for, and giving it away to people who don’t need it… I’m stopping there as it is a bad run-on sentence. The sheer scope of this human tragedy… would make Shakespeare weep… It makes me weep… How can we keep up with the never-ending suppository of MAGA diatribes. I use the word suppository, because I feel these “leaders” have their head stuck up their asses.
Dissent??? Where do I start??? It is endless. Now they call nurses and education employees non-professionals. Dear Mr. Convict and Chief… I have more qualifications to run the country or at least the Department of Education than you do. Here is the one difference. I’m not arrogant enough to believe I could do a good job. I would be over my head. I would need consummate professionals and experts around me with the best knowledge and research to assist me in making good decisions. Even then I would doubt myself. Is it the right thing to do? What are the repercussions for this decision??? I don’t see any reflecting going on at all. Willful stupidity and greed is all I see. How does one dissent with such insolence or impotence??? America should have “Kept her Monster on a Leash” as I channel a Tower of Power song from the 1990’s…
I am rambling… I apologize… It is hard to focus on something when the bombardment is akin to a meteor shower. I am thankful there are content creators out there that have the time to write, film, or speak about one thing at a time. I get overwhelmed by all of the data… It makes me feel like I have ADHD on too much Red Bull… Where are my pants??? Should I spell the color “grey” or “gray?” ….or would colour be better? Do I characterise or characterize? Seriously… It is tough some days…
The fact I have a distraction with this new geo-art project, reading, and other willful pursuits that keeps my cup from overflowing into the pit of negativity and despair regarding American Politics, is helpfreigureiucwhwiuehrfciwehrf cpwoiecrh pith egiuehcgiuht iuchexxiuch gopie htoivhtpixuhui hu i uirhe guc hcpihwpigh 34iiopoighp3o4icmpi4cg4
I also have the company of mastiffs… I was just reminded of this as Mack, my old man, did his fall backwards thing onto me. His head landed on my hands as I was typing… I left it partially unedited. Mack says, “Hello!” He’s a little rude and selfish sometimes. When he’s cold he does this to steal my body heat. Then there are the tail wags, slobber, and body slams that always keep me grounded in reality. Dissent will always be there… if I feel fired up enough to focus on one given topic… Be well… Take care of each other…
…so it goes…
