Hello dear reader, I hope this day has been an excellent one. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, Somewhat United States, Middle West the real November has descended and boy has it hit the psyche hard…..

Seasonal depression has been in this writer’s biological cycle for years. The sun rising after 0700 and setting about 1650 is a real drag. What makes it worse are the gray days, blustery winds, and the occasional snowstorm. Ughh… I can’t imaging how are friends in the real North or the real South (in the doldrums of June) handle even shorter days. All of you have my deepest respect.

I make attempts to push out of it. I solve geocaching puzzles, listen to various musics, play with my mastiffs (it’s like rugby with slobber,) talk with my lovely bride, talk with my geocaching friends, read a book, see a movie, anything… but…

When you add the laughable nominations for cabinet posts by #45/#47 it doesn’t make the days any better. Linda McMahon for Secretary of Education??? Really??? A woman who claimed she had an education degree, but in reality it was degree in French. How do you not understand what degree you received in university? Oh wait, could she have lied? Isn’t that a qualification for serving in the new administration? Lying?

Ok, I’m being snarky… No, I’m not. It is laughable. #45/#47, I know a long list of real honest to God educators that are frankly more qualified for that post than… anyone that has donated to your campaign. I’m more qualified for God’s sake, and I would be in way over my head. McMahon would simply sink to the bottom of the trench. We need an educator administrator with a growth mindset, well versed in education law, that can steer the department out of Neoliberal economic craziness…. Oh wait, we need a whole new Congress, Supreme Court, and Executive Branch to get us out of this mode of Neoliberal Economic Craziness!!!! Don’t worry that’s another blog.

Oh, I really wonder if all those folks in D.C. even know what neoliberal economic philosophy truly is. They all practice it… No, not all practice it. I forgot, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are too centrist or left of center to practice it. There are a few representatives too. Representative Ocasio-Cortez and “The Squad” as the conservative media likes to call them, cause they’re too far left… too far left… don’t you mean you are too far right conservative media, aka news entertainment, cause it ain’t journalism… urp…

That’s the most depressing thing this November is the lack of knowledge regarding the state of American Politics by most of our populace. Our country doesn’t have a functional conservative or liberal wing. We have a crazed ultra-conservative fascist (neoliberal) wing (MAGA.) We have a conservative wing (Republicans with congressional ethics.) A moderately conservative wing (The majority of democrats.) Then there are the small group of progressive centrist/left wingers that everyone hates in the media, but Senator Sanders, in my opinion, would have been a great president. He would have fought neoliberalism hard from the Oval Office. What’s that saying Elon Musk hates? “Tax the Rich.”

Side note, historically: The Reagan administration nearly destroyed the Democratic Party when he broke union labor (firing of the air traffic controllers.) The slide far right begins here. The Democratic Party moved into conservative land to stay relevant. They entered the Neoliberal paradigm. Remember NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement?) Remember Ross Perot? He said American Manufacturing would disappear in 1992… Guess what? He was right. Okay… I need another blog for this… I digress…

All of this seasonal and political garbage is weighing heavily on the minds of many Americans. America isn’t a safe place currently for millions of people: Women, LGBTQ, Dreamers, Diverse Peoples, Immigrants in the process of applying for citizenship, and the countless number of other people here illegally trying to survive. That weighs heavily on the minds of many people… It weighs heavy on me… I dissent with this persecution. I just want to fix it. I have students that fall in these categories of all ages… cause I’m old… They deserve a better country than the one we are giving them… This is the source of my November Doldrums, well that and the natural phenomenon of late autumn and winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Press on I will… fight to the end… as we go…
